Global Aid Hand’s Risk Education team has played impactful role in achieving the goal of
creating a preventive health and education initiative that aims to hinder harm
from all types of explosives that could endanger the lives of civilians.

In Labdo, East
Darfur GAH’S RE Team 5 conducted a risk education session which brought the
attention of three little boys who have obtained their knowledge from GAH’s
session and further used it on others.
The following week, the three little boys took their goat around Labdo
to feed it; while they were grazing it they pointed a hazardous action. In this
they seen a boy carry a big UXO along with it he was carrying a stick that he
wanted to hit with. The three little boys rushed and told the boy that if he
touches it the object will explode and informed him to stay away it. Having
heard that it is dangerous, the boy stepped away from it and thanked them for
saving him from danger.

Further on, the
three little boys stated that the RE team taught them if they find a strange
object, they must inform elders which is why one of them said “let’s go inform
our father”.  They went back home and
told their father about the information that they learned from GAH’s
educational session.  After hearing this
came to GAH’s RE team 5 and thanked them for the saving the lives of these
young boys.
